Since the early 1980's, I began cheering for Team Canada! In those days, I was limited to my television set in terms of me monitoring my favourite team in major international ice hockey tournaments. Now, I did attempt to attend games however, I was unsuccessful on all occasions. As a result, I used to get frustrated over the situation but there was nothing I could have done. Nevertheless, I kept dreaming to see my favourite team in action.
In February, 2010, at the Winter Olympic Games, in the beautiful west coast city of Vancouver, my dream came true. Yes, I was able to see Team Canada in action for the first time. The team faced Norway and won eight to zero. Team Canada's Jerome Iginla, a black male player, scored two goals and netminder Roberto Luongo earned the shutout.
As a fan, I truly had a great time!
Finally, this May, at the World Hockey Championships, in Cologne, Germany, Team Canada will be facing Italy in the first round and yes, I will be attending the game for sure!
